We’re thrilled to be celebrating our 24th birthday today, following our company registration on 18 October 1993 by our founder, the one and only Wayne B. Staunton (WBS). Since then we have moved into the second generation of our family-owned business with Wayne’s son Thomas B. Staunton (TBS) together with partner Kim Voss, leading our national team.
The Sold Out team has been delivering iconic moments in Australian and international history, including: the Sydney 2000 Olympic and Paralympic Games, 2002 Salt Lake Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games, 40th Anniversary South Pacific Games in Fiji, Melbourne Commonwealth Games, Manchester Commonwealth Games, as well as 20yrs of the Surf Life Saving Australian Championships and Australian Swimming Championships, the Blackmores Sydney Running Festival for over 17yrs, Australian Olympic Team “National Welcome Home Celebrations” since 1996 and the 2006 Melbourne and 2012 Adelaide World Surf Life Saving Championships, to name but a few.
Wayne is still to be found at many of our events getting stuck in with the team and bringing boundless energy. We are also incredibly lucky to have our first ever team member still on board too, Mrs Fiona Bedford (Finance Director and UltraMarathon Runner), who has raised three, now adult, children whilst at Sold Out, the youngest of which has been a part of the Sold Out team herself in recent months.
It has been an amazing 24 years with unforgettable global projects as well as countless world first events around Australia including Water Polo By The Sea (Sydney Harbour), NITRO Athletics, Sydney “Macy’s Day” Christmas Parades, The Variety Cycle, Enlighten Canberra, BHP Aquatic Super Series, Launch of One Australia Sailing Yacht, Splash Marathon Swim, A1 Grand Prix — too many to mention. Testament to Sold Out’s experience is the success that so many team members have continued to achieve in their careers, for example, Ms Louise Bell who is now Operations Director and Co-Deputy Chef De Mission of Team England – Commonwealth Games.
Sold Out is humble of our own achievements including “SME Business of the Year” accolades, multiple victories at the Australian Event Awards, not to mention being honoured as a Benefactor of the Children’s Cancer Institute of Australia – all badges that we wear with great pride.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you, our amazing customers, partners and friends for your unconditional trust and decades of support. Everyone who knows Sold Out, knows that we are a family and indeed we consider everyone around us as part of our family!. Whilst there are a myriad of cliches to suit this occasion, “team work makes the dream work” or “you’ll never work a day in your life if you love what you do”, we simply say THANK YOU.
A huge shout-out must go to our brilliant team, who always go (way) above and beyond delivering the best events in Australia. It is the tireless dedication, “can do” attitude and never give up approach that ensures the team at Sold Out exceed our client’s expectations, every time. The team at Sold Out represent a local expertise and world-class delivery that is second to none and we thank all of our team for your commitment.
We consider ourselves very lucky to deliver over 500+ events each year, for the significant and positive impact all of our events have on the Australian community, and we love to create engaging and innovative experiences and inspiring and successful projects across the country and overseas.
We are looking forward to more exciting events in the future, including the biggest sporting event in Australia in over a decade, the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games, of which our team are the Official Event Management Company.
