Title: Project Assistant
Number of years with SoldOut: I haven’t made the year milestone yet, another six months to go!

Describe yourself in three words.
Patient. Dedicated. Loyal.

What does your role at SoldOut entail?
Everything and anything!

My role is to assist in any job no matter how little or big. This means going from being the Project Lead on events/activations to then ordering more diet coke for everyone in the office!

What do you like most about your job and what do you like the least?
The best thing about my job is the amazing team I get to work with! They inspire and mentor me to be the best I can be at work, but they also give great advice outside of work. I know there will never be a dull moment and everyone is a hard worker and committed to producing great results.

The thing I like least about my job would have to be the office aircon! I’m the only one in the office who is always freezing; I even walk around with two jackets – sometimes three. I try to sneak over and turn it off but always get caught.

How did you get started in the events industry?

I was actually in childcare for five years before I finally decided to go back and complete my Diploma in Event Management.  I volunteered on any events that came my way, and this led me to a full-time job with SoldOut when I complete my diploma. Now, I am finally doing what I love!

Do you travel for your job?

Being fairly new to SoldOut I haven’t had many travel opportunities. My goal is to develop my skills and knowledge so I can use them to travel around the world and work on international events.

What has been your favourite event/activation to work?

This would definitely have to be the RBC Race for the Kids 2019, which supports Ronald McDonald House.

Being a part of such a great event for an awesome cause was really rewarding.  I got to see all the team’s hard work and planning come together, and to know you have helped children and families in need was a great feeling at the end of the day!

What is something about your job that most people wouldn’t know?

How much work and detail goes into producing great events! It wasn’t until I started working in the industry that I realised how much time, resources and small details are involved in the planning and implementing small events let alone the big ones!

What is the most unusual thing you’ve seen or done while working on an event/activation?

Being here for only six months, I haven’t seen too many unusual things onsite. Except for our Senior Project Manager Matt working so hard he splits his pants on every bump in!

Have you ever met a famous person while working on an event/activation? If so, who was it and what were they like?

Not yet!

If you could swap jobs with anyone else in the company for one day, it would be _______.

It would have to be Nikki, she is one of the Senior Project Managers and a great role model to aspire to be! Nikki is a hard worker and driven during every aspect of her job from planning to implementation. To experience that for a day would be awesome!

If you had to pick a movie title to describe your job, it would be……

“The Avengers” – Because SoldOut is Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.

Do you have a party trick?

I actually don’t have a party trick (that I know of at least).
