22 years international experience scoping, managing and producing major festival-style events of local, national and global importance, focussing on the sports, marketing and entertainment industries. Matt has been a part of planning, building and producing some of Australia’s and the World’s biggest events, including working on concert and cultural performance experience on the Sydney Olympic Games, Salt Lake 2002 Winter Olympics, Beijing Olympic Games 2008, Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games and Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games. Matt oversaw all logistics and production of the recent Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games announcement celebration staging, responsible for site construction and operation. He has rigged on some of the biggest stages in Australia, ensuring that the theming / styling and production elements are delivered harmoniously, without impact to branding or experience. Matt is fully licenced for high risk, major construction, rigging at height and operating heavy machinery, and provides an added layer of logistical and construction knowledge, capability and expertise, in-house as part of SoldOut’s executive team.

I’m the ‘Answers Guy.’ Problem onsite? I’ll fix it. Something needs to get done? Consider it done. With over two decades of hands-on event production experience — from Olympic Games to major festivals — I’m the person the team calls when the stakes are high and there’s no room for error. My job is to make sure every moving part lands exactly where it’s supposed to.
F1. I’ve built and operated some of the world’s biggest events, but there’s something about the sheer precision and scale of a Formula 1 Grand Prix that I’d love to get inside. The logistics, the infrastructure, the split-second execution — I want to see how that machine runs from the inside.

Impossible to pick just one — but if you’re forcing my hand, it’s Paul Kelly or Queen. Both have stood the test of time for very different reasons.
Honestly, it’s impossible to single out one moment from 22 years. But if I had to capture what it’s really about — it’s the times I’ve had my kids beside me on site, watching something massive come together. That’s when it hits you. All the planning, the early mornings, the problem-solving — it’s worth it.
