Matt Cooper

Matt grew up in the English midlands, north of London, where he completed a business degree before commencing his working career with a large security company in the UK.

Matt oversaw all event projects from conception to completion, allowing him to quickly learn the importance of detail, along with the ability to see the bigger picture. It was on his travels to the southern hemisphere where Matt fell in love with the Australian climate and relocated to Sydney, where he joined SoldOut originally as a casual team member. Matt has quickly adapted and established himself as a Major Event Specialist and Senior Project Director for SoldOut – overseeing, planning, managing and delivering such projects as the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games and 2021 Sydney Mardi Gras and was instrumental in the development and delivery of Olympics Live.

Matt has the rare “SoldOut” ability to remain calm and rational in busy event environment’s and it is this trait combined with his years of project management on an international level, which help him deliver events which exceed client expectations. Matt has helped deliver both major sports projects, such as the Kellogg’s Ironman / Ironwoman Series and global multi-sport events, such as his role as Major Event Specialist for the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games Corporation (GOLDOC), planning, managing and delivering 4yrs of globally televised events.

Matt is a hard working, efficient and effective leader, and always goes above and beyond to ensure he leaves nothing to chance when delivering an event of any size. Matt is critical in the coordination of major stakeholder groups and fulfilling the role of site manager for major site builds.

Away from the office, Matt constantly tries to escape living in his wife shadow, a tough ask considering his wife is Chloe Esposito OAM OLY, Modern Pentathlon Olympic Champion! Matt is also an avid football fan, and can often be found switching between a Tottenham Hotspurs EPL game and a Fawlty Towers marathon in honour of his homeland.
