Our recent attendance at SportAccord’s World Sport & Business Summit on the Gold Coast (find out our three key takeaways from the event) highlighted the importance of these types of events which gives the global sports industry a platform to share best practice, thought leadership and network.
It was clear throughout the week, that international conferences were vital in to bringing the many sections of the sports world together and creating a space for communication and discussion. The collaboration at these types of events harnesses shared experiences and insights to best practices, by creating the time and space for conversations.
Interestingly, former CEO of Invictus Games Sydney Patrick Kidd OBE discussed this at Sport Accord. During a panel discussion at SportAccord, Patrick revealed that perhaps the Invictus Games Sydney could have harnessed strategic partnership opportunities better and recognised that a significant opportunity remains for future Games.
At SoldOut, we highly value the opportunities that international conferences provide to not only share our knowledge and demonstrate our capabilities on a world stage but to discover and develop new ways to innovate. Being able to tap into a global network of organisers, suppliers, hosts cities, governments and sporting federations is an invaluable undertaking and one we continue to do on a regular basis.
SoldOut will be attending the MEI Major Event Summit in Birmingham, UK 26-27 June 2019.
