DHL Asia Pacific Lifesaving Challenge Japan 2004 was an international surf lifesaving competition that had participants from Australia, Sri Lanka, New Zealand, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Iran, India, China, Indonesia, Malaysia and Japan. The focus of the event was for developed countries to provide educational support to developing countries through life saving activities.


Before becoming infamous in 1995 for being the first boat to sink in the 144-year history of the America’s Cup competition, the One Australia Yacht held a not so well-known record. It was the largest single span structure to be transported up the east coast of Australia.

A gruelling nine-hour relay swim at Sutherland Shire’s outdoor pool, the Splash Marathon Swim was a popular charity event which ran for 12 years mainly throughout the 90s and raised more than $1 million for the Children’s Cancer Institute (CCIA).

Time certainly flies when you are having fun, and we can’t believe our latest Games is all over. As the Official Event Management Company of the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games, we enjoyed an extraordinary six-year journey that is now drawn to a close.

Event Logistics

Have you ever thought about what it takes to stage a major event like a music festival or an international sporting event?


The 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Olympic Games was an incredible international sporting event that saw approximately 2,400 athletes from 77 countries participate in 80 events.


Sold Out Events was tasked with delivering BHP Billiton’s 2008 Beijing Olympic sponsorship leveraging program which included development, planning and management of ‘mini Olympic Games’ in communities around the world where BHP operated mining sites.


In 2008, the Sold Out Events’ team staged one of the largest national tours ever seen, for the National Bank of Australia’s (NAB) 150 Years celebration.

It’s been 25 years since Sold Out Events managed its first major event. Back in 1993, founder Wayne B. Staunton took over delivery and logistics of the Australian Surf Lifesaving Championships, and the company hasn’t looked back since.
